Lowe’s Kids’ Workshops and The Home Depot Kids Workshops are both fun, in-person workshops that give kids a chance to build a simple (usually seasonal) toy or accessory.
The workshops, which are free, teach kids basic building skills, as well as safety.

The Home Depot Kids’ Workshops
Home Depot’s Kids’ Workshops take place the first Saturday of the month, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Find details and announcements on homedepot.com/c/kids.

Lowe’s Kids Workshops
Registration is required. When you register you’ll sign up for a time slot. The events take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. If there is no space left you still might be able to come by at 12 p.m. and pick up a kit to take home.
Check the Lowe’s DIY page frequently to see announcement of new projects. You’ll also see the registration date and link for each project.
The kits are designed for kids age 4-11 and include instructions and all the supplies needed.
