Many businesses thank veterans and active military members by offering them a free meal or other gift on Veterans Day, which is Monday, November 11, 2024. If you’re a member of the military, please check out this list, and see if there’s a deal that you might be able to take advantage of.

Zebulon Veterans Day Celebration
The Town of Zebulon and Zebulon Rotary Club are hosting a Veterans Day Celebration on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at 10 a.m., on the front lawn of Zebulon Town Hall, 1003 North Arendell Avenue, Zebulon. Please register by October 25, 2024. (Follow above link for registration information.)

Lunch for the Brave in Cary
The Town of Cary is honoring veterans with Lunch for the Brave. Veterans can attend a free catered lunch and a preservation on Friday, November 8, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. We are checking on the location. Last year it was at Prestonwood Country Club, 300 Prestonwood Parkway, Cary, NC. Register by calling Cary Senior Center at 919-469-4081. Please note: space is limited and each person must register. You will be contacted prior to the event for meal selection.

Veterans Day Celebration in Morrisville
The Morrisville Veterans Day Celebration will be Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 9 a.m. at Indian Creek Trailhead, 101 Town Hall Drive.

Veterans Day Concert with Durham Community Concert Band
Enjoy a free concert by Durham Community Concert Band at Southern Village Green, 620 Market Street, Chapel Hill, on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 3 p.m.

Veterans Day Observance in Cary
The Town of Cary will hold a Veterans Day Observance on Monday, November 11, 2024, at 11 a.m., at Veterans Freedom Park, 1517 N. Harrison Ave., Cary. The event will feature remarks from Cary Town Council, special guest speaker Colonel Bret Batdorff, and patriotic music from Old North State Brass Band. Attendees are invited to visit the Freedom Tower Monument at the park and enjoy complimentary refreshments before and after the ceremony. A special Field of Flags will be at Veterans Freedom Park in honor of those who have served in the armed forces.

Town of Garner Veterans Day Observance
The Town of Garner is presenting a Veterans Day Observance on Monday, November 11th, 2024, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. it will take place at Aversboro Road Baptist Church, 1600 Aversboro Road, Garner. Enjoy music by the Garner Magnet High School band and a keynote address. This free event is co-sponsored by the Garner Veterans Advisory Committee.
