Tacopalooza Food Truck Rodeo and Competition takes place Sunday, August 18th, 2019, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Knightdale Station, 810 N. First Avenue, Knightdale.
This event is presented by RDU Mobile Food Association.
Food trucks will be competing for top taco honors, and will be serving only tacos or taco themed foods. Admission is free. You pay for your tacos.

- The 13th Taco
- Bandido’s Mexican Cafe
- Larepublicataco
- Succotash Durham
- Qspresso Food Truck
- El Jefecito
- Tacos Las Gringas
- Kono Pizza Raleigh
- Gonza on Wheels
Dessert vendors:
- Sweet Escape by Poblanos
- Bruster’s Real Ice Cream Truck
- JAM Ice Cream
There will be a taco eating contest at 1 p.m. It costs $10 to enter. The winner receives a trophy and a $50 gift certificate to spend at any RDU Mobile Food Truck Association food truck. To register, email ceo@rdumfa.org.
In addition there will be games and fun for kids, like a bouncy house, as well as entertainment from La Grande radio station. Drawings for special prizes will take place from 1pm to 3pm, all of which are donated by the vendors and RDUMFA.
Here’s the schedule:
- 11 a.m.: A judges panel will convene to select a victor for the best taco. The winning food truck will receive a trophy. Judges include the Soul-Full Sisters, Chef Kyle Teears of Whiskey Kitchen and Chef-Owner Tom Cuomo of Papa Shogun.
- 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.: The general public can enjoy all the tacos their hearts desire!
- 1 p.m.: Taco eating contest
