National Taco Day deals in the Triangle Oct. 1 and 4

National Taco Day is a cause for celebration. It’s a day to honor the taco, one of the most versatile and tasty foods. However, you might notice that it’s not always celebrated on the same day.

Why are there two National Taco Days?

National Taco Day falls on Tuesday, October 1, or Friday, October 4th, 2024, depending on who you talk to. National Taco Day has traditionally been on October 4 every year. Taco Bell lobbied the National Day Calendar (there is such a thing?) to change it to the first Tuesday of October, which is October 1.

But that doesn’t mean that other restaurants can’t celebrate on October 4, or both days, and many do.

This is way too much controversy for us, so we’ll be adding taco deals for either day, as they’re announced.

National Taco Day Deals for 2024

Chido Taco in Cary

Chido Taco, 151 SE Cary Parkway, Cary, North Carolina, is offering a special deal on Friday, October 4, 2024. Mention National Taco Day when you place an order of at least $4 and get a free taco. Redeemable only in person, between 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Taco Bell

Taco Bell is offering $1 tacos every hour for 10 hours, with a limit of 100,000 tacos. On Tuesday, October 1, 2024, Rewards Members can redeem an iconic Taco Bell taco for $1, dropping every hour from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Taco lovers can enjoy up to 10 tacos throughout the day for a total of $10 if they get in on each drop. From classics to newer favorites, crunchy to soft, cheesy to spicy, here’s the taco lineup. Each has a limit, so if you’re serious about getting 10 tacos for $10, make sure to redeem them at the beginning of each hour.

10 a.m.: Crunchy Taco (10,000 available for redemption)
11 a.m.: Double Stacked Taco (10,000 available for redemption)
12 p.m.: Chalupa Supreme (10,000 available for redemption)
1 p.m.: Nacho Cheese Doritos® Locos Tacos (10,000 available for redemption)

5 p.m.: Cheesy Gordita Crunch (10,000 available for redemption)
6 p.m.: Crunchy Taco Supreme (10,000 available for redemption)
7 p.m.: Soft Taco (10,000 available for redemption)

Chuy’s

Chuy’s is offering several National Taco Day deals. on both days. Visit Chuy’s dressed like a taco on October 1 or 4, 2024, post a photo on social media using #ChuysTacoDay and you’ll receive a free, dine-in entree of your choice.

Also, Chuy’s will be serving up their world-famous tacos and drink specials all day, both days. Add a Ground Beef Taco (Crispy or Soft!) to any entrée for just $1.

They are also offering $1 Tequila Floaters to top your favorite margarita with an extra pour of tequila. After all… tequila and tacos are the perfect pair.

On the Border

On the Border is celebrating National Taco Day by extending its Endless Tacos deal through Sunday, October 13, 2024. For just For only $10, guests can choose from pulled chicken tinga and seasoned ground beef tacos when they dine in at participating On The Border restaurants. On top of that, for an extra $3, guests can upgrade to enjoy endless brisket or Southwest chicken tacos.

Tijuana Flats

Tijuana Flats is celebrating National Taco Day with a deal that goes beyond the traditional one-day celebration.

From September 19 to Octoctober 6, 2024, taco lovers enjoy $2 off Tijuana Flats’ favorite build-your-own menu. Just be sure to mention the offer in-restaurant or use promo code 2OFFTACOS online via Tijuana Flats site or app.

The restaurant also offers its Tijuana Tuesdaze special every week, including on National Taco Day. Get two tacos, chips and a drink for just $6.99.
