One of the largest and most spectacular Christmas light displays in North Carolina is at 10 S. Cypress St, Wendell.
Lake Myra Christmas Lights features almost a quarter of a million lights that dance in a synchronized show, with special effects, to holiday music.
There’s also a 50-foot decorated Christmas tree!
This isn’t a drive-thru or walk-thru light show. You park and and watch the show, which is about 25 minutes long, with a 5 minute intermission between shows.
If there are large crowds waiting when you get there, please enjoy a walk around town and come back for another show, or stay in your car until the next show.
If you want to watch from your car, tune into 103.3 FM to hear the music.
You’re welcome to bring a lawn chair.
Also, please check out the big list of Christmas light displays in the Triangle that we’ve compiled.
Santa won’t be at Lake Myra Christmas Lights this year, but there’s a mailbox there and if you bring a letter, the nice folks at Lake Myra will make sure it gets to the North Pole so Santa can read it.
It’s free to watch. Donations are accepted.
Lake Myra Christmas Lights will run from November 25th to December 31st 2020.
The hours are:
- Sunday to Thursday: 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
- Friday and Saturday: 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Make sure to always check the Facebook page for Lake Myra Christmas Lights before heading out, so that you can see if there is a change in the schedule due to weather or any other reason.
