Lake Crabtree County Park, at 1400 Aviation Parkway in Morrisville, is Wake County’s first established county park. Its 215-acre site is adjacent to a 520-acre flood control lake. It contains more than 16 miles of trails. Other activities include group and individual picnicking, catch-and-release fishing, boating, and nature study. It also includes the remains of a 19th-century tenant farm. You can see the ruins of a tenant house, a stone-lined well and a tobacco ordering pit.
Many free events are held at Lake Crabtree County Park.
Here are a few, but make sure to check Lake Crabtree’s website for a complete list. Make sure to check the link and see if you need to pre-register.
