Bike Month Kick Off

Join Bike Durham for the kick off of Bike Month and the celebration of the organization’s 10 year Anniversary. Come eat cake, enjoy refreshments, win a prize, get a bike check-up, take a spin on an eBike from eBike Central, meet local Bike Shops and our partners like the Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Commission, the City Department of Transportation and and the County’s Department of Health, Durham Parks and Rec, Go Triangle and more.
The Biking Durham hiStories Ride leaves from the Museum at 2pm! Historian, Ernie Dollar will lead this 8 mile ride around downtown, slow and fun, family friendly with stops along the way to learn about some of Durham’s more storied and intriguing sites!
Ride of Silence

Join Bike Durham and friends for a slow, silent bike ride around downtown to honor and remember those killed or injured while biking. All are welcome and encouraged to ride with us to show solidarity for the community of bikers and walkers who have lost their lives and whose families are forever changed. This ride occurs internationally on the third Wednesday in May.
After gathering for a few words in CCB Plaza, we’ll head off in our ride together for 5 miles, at a leisurely pace, in silence.
Bike the Nature Preserves Spring Ride

Join Bike Durham and the Ellerbe Creek Watershed Association for a family-friendly, fun and educational tour as you Bike the Nature Preserves. This will be a casual, in-person group ride of about 8.5 miles, mostly on bike trails. The group will be joined by a member of ECWA and stop at three of Durham’s nature preserves to learn more about their history and wildlife, and the vital role they play in Durham.
