
The Town of Carrboro is hosting an Independence Day Celebration on Friday, July 4, 2025. It will take place at Carrboro Town Commons from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with pre-event activities at Weaver Street Market starting at 9:30 a.m.

At 9:30 a.m. the kickoff event will take place at Weaver Street Market. Then at 10:50 a.m., the People’s Parade will take place, led by the Bulltown Strutters, ending up at Town Hall. The main event takes place at Town Hall. See below.

At Weaver Street Market

9:30 a.m. to 10:50 a.m.
Pre-event activities start at 9:30 a.m. There will be a bike/wagon decorating contest, along with the costume contest for kids. At 10:50 a.m., the Bulltown Strutters will lead the People’s Parade to the Carrboro Town Hall for the main event.
- 9:30 a.m. – July 4th Activities Begin
- 9:45 a.m. – Designing & Decorating Booths (Patriotic Tattoos, Hat Making & Decorating, Patriotic Flag Coloring, Bike & Wagon Decorating)
- 10 -10:15 a.m. – Registration for Costume Contest
- 10:30 a.m. – Costume Contest Winners Announced
- 10:40 a.m. – Parade Assembly on E. Weaver Street
- 10:50 a.m. – The People’s Parade from Weaver Street Market to Carrboro Town Hall led by The Bulltown Strutters

Mayor Barbara Foushee will host Carrboro’s annual gathering of community members for the Community Reading of Frederick Douglass’ essay, “The Meaning of the Fourth of July for the Negro.”
