YouTube TV subscribers have been missing out on sports and other content, as YouTube TV and Disney haven’t come to terms.
This means that ESPN and ABC are no longer on YouTube TV, at least for now.
Each is blaming the other, but it’s the subscribers, who pay over $80 a month, who are losing out.
At least, though, there’s a little compensation. If you’re a YouTube TV subscriber you should have received (or will receive) an email saying that you can get a $20 credit on your account.

If you get the email, just follow the instructions. If you don’t, go to tv.youtube.com (on a browser, not the YouTube TV app) and sign in. It seems a lot easier to do on a browser on a computer than on a phone.
Then:
- Click on your picture on top right of the screen (if on a computer)
- Click “Settings”
- Click “Updates”
- Click “Claim credit.”

Also, in the meantime, as they fight it out, you might be able to still watch ESPN programming by going to espn.com directly. Then click on the profile icon (the blank face) and click on “Select TV provider.” Then select YouTube TV and sign on there with your YouTube TV credentials.

No promises! But that’s how we watched Monday Night Football. It’s a lot easier on a computer than on a TV, but you can do it on a smart TV. Just make sure that you don’t inadvertently sign up for anything. They don’t make it very intuitive. The exact steps can vary if you are using Roku, Fire TV, etc.
You can watch ABC with an antenna, but if you don’t already own one, let’s hope that this dispute gets resolved before it comes to that. (Although they can be handy.)
