Tour the historic Calvin Jones House, explore the exhibits in the new museum building, and stroll through the beautiful gardens.
The Calvin Jones House was the first administrative building of Wake Forest College and was saved from demolition by a group of eleven women from the Wake Forest Garden Club. You can sign up for a tour of the Calvin Jones House on the museum’s website.
The museum, situated behind the historic Calvin Jones House, features a permanent exhibit gallery highlighting Wake Forest’s history, including Wake Forest College. In the lobby, you will find temporary and traveling exhibits.

Tours of the Calvin Jones House explore the interconnected histories of slavery, religion, and education. Guided tours are free and open to the public. You’re encouraged to register in advance, but visitors may also register at the front desk.
Preserving History in the Wake of Disaster: Climate Resiliency & Historic Preservation

McCue will also screen a short portion of Paul Bonesteel’s 2002 film The Mystery of George Masa. Both Horace Kephart and George Masa are featured in our current exhibition, Horace Kephart in the Great Smoky Mountains.
“The Story of the Plott Hound” with Author Bob Plott

Learn about Plott Hounds, the official state dog of North Carolina. Plott Hounds have been raised in the United States for over 250 years, and are the only recognized dog breed from North Carolina. Author, storyteller, wood carver, and descendant of the family that bred the first Plott Hounds, Bob Plott will tell the story of how the breed gained worldwide notoriety as a hunting dog. The breed’s legacy, along with that of the Plott family, extends across the state.
