ANOTHER UPDATE: According to WRAL: Now it’s been announced that Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience will open no later than April 21st, and that the address is 6240 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh. This is an empty store in a shopping center near Pleasant Valley Road and Mumford Road.
UPDATE: According to The News & Observer, Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience has been postponed.
If you bought tickets you should have been given exchange vouchers, which will allow you to reschedule through the Fever smartphone app. But you should also be able to contact customer service through the Fever app for a refund.
The rest of this article reflects the original information that we had. We will update it as soon as we get new information.
Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience is coming to Raleigh. The exhibit is a 20,000 square foot light and sound experience that features two-story projections of the work of Vincent Van Gogh. Projections are larger than life and stretch from ceiling to floor.
It will be at a location in Raleigh that, for now, is a secret, starting in March, 2022. Tickets are on sale for dates through June 12th, 2022.
Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience is suitable for all ages.
A visit will take 60-75 minutes. Besides the central area with the floor to ceiling projections there are separate galleries that chronicle Van Gogh’s life and art through informational panels, re-creations and interactives.
Looking to save money at Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience? This event is more of a splurge than what we usually feature on Triangle on the Cheap, but if you can go on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday, before 5 p.m., you’ll be able to snag the lowest priced tickets, which are $34.90 for adults and $19.90 for children. If you go on an evening or weekend, you’ll pay $44.90 for adults and $22.90 for children.
Once at the exhibition, you can also purchase tickets for a Virtual Reality interactive, which guides you on a ten-minute journey through “A day in the life of the artist.”
Van Gogh’s work is well suited for an immersive multimedia experience. There are actually at least four other touring immersive Van Gogh experiences, including:
- Imagine Van Gogh: The Immersive Exhibition
- Immersive Van Gogh
- Beyond Van Gogh: An Immersive Experience
- Van Gogh Alive
