All goods sold were produced within 50 miles of the Market, and the farmers and artisans themselves run the Market. In fact, the actual owner of each business or farm is present at Market each week.

Kids’ Seedling Day

At this event, kids can begin their gardening journey with a seedling of their choice from diverse heirloom varieties donated by Market farmers, complete with potting soil and growing tips provided by event sponsor Fifth Season Gardening Company. This event celebrates Earth Day and National Poetry Month, and features a collective poetry-writing activity for kids of all ages with Carrboro’s Poet Laureate, a raffle by San Marzano Tomato Sponsor Fifth Season Gardening Company, live music, and more.
Strawberry Jamboree

The Carrboro Farmers’ Market celebrates all things strawberry with Strawberry Jamboree! Market-goers can pick up strawberry recipes, get information about local you-pick strawberry farms, enjoy samples of strawberry dishes around the market, enter a raffle, enjoy live music, and much more. Visit the many strawberry growers and stock up your freezer and pantry for the year. Many of the prepared foods vendors at the Market also offer strawberry specials.

Tomato Day

The market’s biggest signature event of the year is Tomato Day! CFM farmers grow over 70 varieties of tomatoes – like Sun Gold, Cherokee Purple, Brandywine, Big Beef, Black Krim, and much more. The Market celebrates tomato season with samples of freshly-sliced tomato samples, local Guest Chefs, a raffle with over 25 prizes from local Carrboro businesses, and much more. Don’t forget to pick up limited-edition merch, like Tomato Day t-shirts and posters.
