The Raleigh Garden Club will hold its Plant and Gift Sale on Mother’s Day Weekend, from Thursday, May 9th, to Saturday, May 11th, 2019, at Historic Polk House, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
It’s free to attend.
There will be special programs, including children’s programs, on Friday, May 10th, and Saturday, May 11th.
May 9: Thursday, 10 am – 5 pm, Plant and Gift Sale
May 10: Friday,10 am – 5 pm, Plant and Gift Sale
- 10:00 a.m, Paul Buescher of the NC Gourd Society will discuss a brief history of gourds and their uses and will bring some decorative examples.
- 1:00 pm, Brie Arthur will talk about “Foodscaping in Pots”
May 11: Saturday,10 am – 5 pm, Plant and Gift Sale
- 11:00 am., Shay Blakemore of the Raleigh Garden Club will be reading an award winning book to children called From Seed to Plant and then she’ll help them pot up a couple of radish seeds in a clear plastic cup to take home.
- 1:00 p.m., Sandy Purvis, also of the Raleigh Garden Club, will present “Honey Bees, Pollination and Honey” to children, with a chance to taste several different kinds of honey.
