Piedmont Farm Animal Refuge, at 7236 NC Highway 87 N, in Pittsboro, is a non-profit organization that works to protect animals from factory farms.
The Refuge is a sanctuary that cares for rescued chickens, turkeys, ducks, sheep, goats, pigs and cows who come from lives of abuse, neglect and abandonment.
These animals find peace and protection on 16 acres of pasture and woods, where they will be provided with top notch, life-long care.

Halloween Tour & Explore

Come to the Refuge in your family-friendly costumes for our Halloween tour, where you can meet our 100+ farm animal residents and learn their rescue stories! There will also be free vegan trick-or-treating and pumpkin carving—they’ll supply the candy and the treat bags, and you can carve your free pumpkin on-site, or just enjoy it at home!
Wander at your own pace along several paths, meeting rescued goats, sheep, ducks, geese, chickens, turkeys, and cows. You’ll even get to feed the residents pumpkin-y treats!
The knowledgeable (and costumed!) Tour Guides will be stationed throughout the Refuge to tell enchanting stories of animal rescues, introducing you to each animal by name.
