The Chapel Hill Downtown Partnership is bringing live music to downtown. Now is the time to support local business and local musicians who don’t have venues to perform in.
Save the Music is a free outdoor performance series.
On Saturdays, from October 17th to at least November 7th, 2020, see and hear live music by a variety of talented performers along Franklin Street and the cross streets throughout downtown Chapel Hill.
The performances will take place from 6 p.m to 8 p.m.
It’s free to enjoy the music, but tips are encouraged!
Please keep social distancing in mind and do not gather around musicians. Instead, walk the length of the street to enjoy all performers, then choose a restaurant near your favorite to enjoy the music at a spaced outdoor dinner within ear shot.
The Chapel Hill Downtown Partnership will be updating this page with the musician schedule for each week. On that page, the performers scheduled for October 10th, which was canceled because of rain, are performing October 17th.
The performers on October 17th:
- Russell Howard of The Auxiliary, at 450 West Franklin Stret
- Catherine and Tony of the Twang Bandits, at 400 West Franklin Street
- Andrew Gilreath, at the intersection of Columbia and Franklin Streets
- Maybe one more!
Also, make sure to stop by Mama Dip’s Kitchen. They’ll be dishing out classic fair food from October 15th to 18th, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
