North Carolina Wildlife Federation, along with Raleigh Parks and Rec, is presenting a tree planting and invasive plant removal activity on Thursday, February 10th, 2022, from 12 to 3 p.m.
It will take place along the Walnut Creek Parkway and Rock Quarry Trail.
Volunteers will help plant trees to restore canopy cover, and combat the spread of invasive plants, including Japanese privet, which aggressively spreads and competes with the native vegetation.
Tools will be provided, or you can bring your own. Waterproof boots are recommended.
Parking will be at the Apollo Heights Park, 756 Lunar Drive, Raleigh, with a 1/3 of a mile walk to the site.
Restrooms will be available at the park’s main office building.
Space is limited to 25 people. This event is recommended for ages 12+.
