National Night Out is a program that encourages local police departments to connect with the community in a fun way, and encourages the community members to stand together for safety and awareness. The official date is the first Tuesday in August, although not all communities hold their National Night Out event on that date.
Some National Night Out events are for the general public and some are for members of specific communities or neighborhoods.
You can find several National Night Out event in the Triangle.
Carrboro Police Department invites the community to National Night Out at Carrboro Town Commons, 301 West Main Street, Carrboro, on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, from 6 to 8 p.m.
This is a free event.
Here is some of what’s going on:
- Free food from Monterrey Mexican Restaurant and Pelican’s Snowballs
- Games
- Dunk tank
- Many local organizations
- Meeting local police officers
