Jumpstart Halloween by exploring some of humanity’s most common fear factors from the safety of your home.
Virtual Science of Fear is an event for adults age 21+ from Museum of Life+Science on Thursday, October 29th, 2020, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The cost is $20 for non-members, and $15 for members. It’s a fundraiser for the museum.
Are you brave enough to attend this zoom webinar event?
Join The Ghost Guild, the exclusive paranormal research team for Raleigh’s Mordecai Historic Park, as they discuss a scientific approach to investigating paranormal claims and how they go about analyzing data. Be prepared to put your critical thinking skills to the test as they share some “mysteries” and experiences with us.
Stick around for a live Q&A session with Guild members and perhaps you’ll consider joining them on a future investigation!
Want to know more about the neuroscience surrounding fear? The Museum’s friends from Bowles Center for Alcohol Studies at UNC School of Medicine will serve up some stimulating knowledge about the brain’s response to being scared.
Discover the stigma surrounding ophiophobia (fear of snakes) and arachnophobia (fear of spiders) with our resident constrictors and arachnids.
Ask the Museum’s animal educators questions about these extraordinary animals in real time and debunk some of their most common myths!
To top it off, representatives from Tito’s Handmade Vodka will share their recipes for some ghostly cocktails you can enjoy at home!
They’ll even be raffling some sweet Tito’s swag during the event.
All proceeds from this spine-chilling event will go directly to helping us care for the Museum’s animals and continue providing educational experiences for people of all ages.
Plus, Tito’s Handmade Vodka will be matching ticket sales up to $1,000!
