After an almost four-year absence, which started during the pandemic, free cookies are back at Harris Teeter as of January 10, 2024. You find the bin of free cookies, with the welcoming smile of Harry the Happy Dragon, at all Harris Teeter bakeries.
For many children, the promise of a free sugar cookie was a cherished part of shopping at Harris Teeter, and — let’s be honest — either a distraction while shopping, or a bribe for good behavior.
One subtle difference in signage, though, from the old days, is that it now says “Kids Get a Free Cookie” and not “Kids of All Ages.” And let’s face it, we’re all kids on occasion when it comes to cookies.
