The sunflowers are in bloom at Dix Park! To celebrate the 10th birthday of the sunflower field, Dix Park is hosting a 10th Birthday Party at the Sunflower Field on Saturday, July 26, 2025.
The address is 1700 Umstead Drive, Raleigh, North Carolina, but keep reading for information on directions and parking.
The festivities take place in the morning and evening. The party is free.
Morning Events
From 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., enjoy the sunflowers and more:
- Sunny the Fun Fairy
- Raleigh Music Collective
- Hands-on activities
- Meet pollinator pros to learn about sunflowers
Evening Events
In the evening, from 6 to 9 p.m., enjoy:
- Garland Mason and Good Company
- Light Up Flowers
- Food trucks
- Limited edition Birthday Brew crafted by Trophy Brewing

Visiting the Sunflowers at Dix Park
Closest Park Entrances:
- Via Western Boulevard: Enter at Hunt Drive
- Via Centennial Parkway: Enter at Blair Drive
Public Parking:
- Follow event signs.
- Use this map for guidance.
Biking or walking:
- Via Rocky Branch Greenway: Enter at Hunt Drive
- Via Centennial Bikeway Connector: Enter at Blair Drive
You may bring your pet, on a leash. Please pick up after your pet.

- Recommended: sunscreen, hats, bug spray and close-toed shoes.
- Please stay on the paths in the field so as not to trample the flowers.
- Well behaved, leashed pets are welcome. Keep pets on pathways and picked up after them.
- Temporary restrooms are located near entrances of the Sunflower Field.
- Indoor restrooms are available at The Stone Houses seven days a week from 8:00 am – 8:00 pm
- The Gatekeeper’s Cottage Visitor Center is open Saturdays & Sundays, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.
- NC Department of Health and Human Services employees work on the campus Monday -Friday. Please be respectful of their working environment and avoid buildings and DHHS parking areas during business hours.
