Día de Oakwood was born as a collaboration between the organizers of the Day of the Dead 5k. The installation consists of 7 large scale ofrendas at Historic Oakwood Cemetery, 701 Oakwood Avenue, Raleigh, North Carolina.
The work celebrates all the traditional aspects of Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead).
Three family-friendly events will be held on October 26, October 27, and November 2, 2024, at Historic Oakwood Cemetery. Visitors can experience the beauty and magic of the ofrendas and contribute an offering, flowers, or pictures. All events will include music, dance, and free face painting.
