The town of Clayton celebrates the season with a couple of fun events every year. Here’s the plan for 2018.
Tree Lighting and Christmas Village
Thursday, November 29th, 2018
5:30 p.m. – 8 p.m.
The 28th Annual Tree Lighting and Christmas Village includes lots of free events (just bring one non-perishable food item donation) in downtown Clayton.

Follow Santa Claus and the honorary “Mr. or Mrs. Christmas” as he or she ride in a horse-drawn carriage down Main Street to Town Square. At 7:45 p.m. Mayor Jody McLeod will welcome the crowd and lead the countdown to the tree lighting! Don’t miss this holiday tradition.
Santa & Ms. Claus – 5:30–7:30 p.m.
Santa and Mrs. Claus are slipping duties and spreading out! Santa Claus is once again at Horne Square! Join us at the Square at 348 E. Main Street, on the corner of Lombard and Main streets, where children can sit on Santa’s lap and share their Christmas wishes! Two trackless trains will circle the parking lot at Horne Square to deliver the children to the photo area! Families get to snap free pictures with their cameras or cell phones. Mrs. Claus will also be taking photos with her elves at the Main Street Community Garden, but if you want Santa – head to Horne! She’s be joined by other fun characters in the garden too!
Santa’s Workshop
Saturday, December 8th

Enjoy a family morning before the annual Clayton Christmas Parade and join us Saturday, December 8, 2018 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Clayton Community Center! Children can make crafts and visit with Santa, Free with the donation of two canned goods for Clayton Area Ministries which serves needy families in the Clayton area.
Clayton Christmas Parade

3 p.m.
The Clayton Christmas Parade, organized by the Clayton Rotary Club, takes place on Main Street between Smith Street and Robinson Street.
