Choral Society of Durham and Durham Symphony Orchestra are presenting a major performance of the deeply moving Mozart Requiem, featuring a 200-voice chorus and full symphony, will be offered free to the public on Thursday evening, September 10, 2026, at 7:30 pm, at the Durham Armory, 212 Foster St. in downtown Durham, NC.
This performance and gathering will solemnly mark and commemorate the 25th anniversary of 9/11. This event is organized by Choral Society of Durham in partnership with the Durham Symphony to remember the many innocent lives lost during the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, and to reaffirm our community’s commitment to unity, service, and resilience.
As we mark this solemn anniversary, we believe it is important to come together as a community to remember those who were lost and to reflect on the strength that emerged in the face of tragedy.
Attendance at this performance will demonstrate meaningful support for this important observance and for the many families, veterans, first responders, and community members who continue to carry the legacy of that day.
