
New Hope Valley Railway, 3900 Bonsal Road, New Hill North Carolina, is bringing back a favorite event from years past: Working on the Railroad Day. It takes place on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
This special event invites guests of all ages to step back in time and explore the history of railroading. Meet the volunteers, explore real railroad equipment, and learn about the skills and teamwork that keep historic trains in motion.
Watch live demonstrations, tour the rail yard, and discover how you can get involved with the New Hope Valley Railway.
Train rides depart at 10:30 a.m., 12:00 p.m., and 1:30 p.m., offering guests time on the rails along with the chance to learn how railroads operated in earlier days through engaging exhibits. Be sure to stop by and watch the Garden Railway running as well.
