The Wall That Heals is a three quarter size replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. It is a traveling exhibit that makes stops around the country.
From March 31st to April 3rd, 2022, The Wall That Heals will be hosted by the Town of Garner. It will be at Lake Benson Park, 921 Buffaloe Road, Garner, near the Garner Veterans Memorial.
A mobile educational center will be there as well.
It’s free to visit The Wall That Heals, and will be open 24 hours a day while in Garner. Parking is free. There are no concessions or souvenirs for sale.
You can visit the exhibit at your own pace or sign up for a group tour.

The Candlelight Welcome Home Ceremony
On Friday, April 1st, 2022, there will be a Candlelight Ceremony at 7:30 p.m. At this event the community will honor all the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces who died in the Vietnam War.
The ceremony will last about 40 minutes and will include music and a speaker, U.S. Army Lt. Col. (retired) Dr. James Johnson, a Vietnam War chaplain.
Please bring a lawn chair or blanket.
Nine wreaths, one each for the eight community men killed in Vietnam and another for survivors who have died since the war, will be placed at The Wall by Gold Star families and a military escort.
Area Boys Scouts will assist in the lighting and there will be special music.
Welcome Home Celebration
On Saturday, April 2nd, 2022, at 2 p.m., there will be a special Welcome Home Celebration and Concert.
Dozens of Vietnam veterans will follow the U.S. Marine 2D Aircraft Wing band to The Wall That Heals at Lake Benson Park. The band will go into formation and perform a concert in front of The Wall.
Col. Samuel L. Meyer – Commanding Officer, 13th Marine Expeditionary UnitU.S. Marine Col. Samuel Lee Meyer, a Garner Senior High graduate, will be the keynote speaker and U.S. Army Col. (retired) Joe Marm, a Medal of Honor recipient, is the grand marshal.
