
The University Park Community in Raleigh is hosting WalkUP: Experience University Park on Saturday, September 6, 2025. This is a free art, music and garden walk. Many venues are hosting special events. Free to participate!
It takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Be sure to make one of your stops Raleigh Little Theatre and Rose Garden, where you can enjoy:
- Shakespeare in the Rose Garden, including participatory mock sword fighting and more (12 to 3 p.m.)
- Anything with a Plug Recycling
- Kids’ Bingo
- Art auction
Make your first stop 2502 Mayview Road (Stop #1 on the map) for: maps, information, kids’ fun zone of garden arts and crafts, kids’ Explorer info., University Park Community and University Park Village Raleigh info., to drop off donations of school supplies and food. At this “Village Kids’ Zone and Info. Center” kids will have lots of fun and grown-ups can learn about University Park Village Raleigh, our new initiative to support aging in place, and learn more about University Park Community, and our community association’s exciting plans.
Kids who want to be “Explorers” will get a printed map, visit at least 10 (ten) sites during WalkUP, and have their map marked at each site visited. When they are finished, Explorers will go to the “Info.” table in the parking lot at Raleigh Little Theatre to redeem for a prize.
Please plan to stay past 3pm for the art sale/silent auction — viewing and sales start at 2:15p with final sales at 3:45p at Raleigh Little Theatre (Gaddy Theatre). Bring the kids –grown-ups browse the art while kids play bingo at 3p.
More than 20 host sites throughout University Park have signed up for what is shaping up to be a rich and exciting experience, full of fun and surprises for all, including many activities for kids and kids of all ages.
Bring donations of school supplies (bookbags and all useful school supplies) to benefit the Communities In Schools Tutoring Center at Mayview and shelf stable foods for the Feed The Pack Food Pantry. Your first stop at 2502 Mayview Road will be a donation collection site; second collection site at Forest Hills Baptist Church.
