The Vocal Arts Ensemble of Durham is presenting their annual June concert, Hear My Voice, on Sunday, June 14, 2026, from 4 to 5:30 p.m., at Duke University Chapel, 401 Chapel Drive, Durham North Carolina.
Admission is free, but donations are gratefully accepted.
This free concert brings together music that reminds us every voice deserves to be heard, with messages from people who are overlooked and oppressed as well as those who embody determination and hope.
The program includes powerful pieces such as the anguished choral drama of James MacMillan’s Cantos Sagrados and Thomas Tallis’ monumental Spem in alium, in which 40 individual voices come together, each sustaining its own unique musical line, to offer a united prayer of hope for all people. Performed by some of the Triangle’s finest singers under the direction of Rodney Wynkoop, this concert offers space for grief, courage, and shared humanity.
