Celebrate the accomplishments of some very special students, at the Vets to Vets Service Dog Team Graduation, on Sunday, November 3, 2024, from 2 to 4 p.m., at Hilton Durham, near Duke, at 3800 Hillsborough Road, Durham, North Carolina.
Honor the hard work and dedication of service dogs and their handlers. Witness the special bond between these incredible teams as they graduate and embark on their new journey together.
It’s free and open to the public.
There will be a reception after the ceremony.
Vets to Vets pairs military veterans with rescue dogs to help with mental or physical disabilities in order to enhance their quality of life.
They:
- Unite veterans with companion, therapeutic, and service dogs from local shelters and rescue organizations at no cost to the veteran
- Provide free training for veterans and their dogs
- Partner veterans and their dogs with local veterinarians for veterinary care at a significantly reduced cost for the life of the animal
- Organize fun and educational animal-related tours and activities
- Participate in community service projects and events
- Conduct animal visits to local veteran transitional housing facilities
