Durham County Veterans Services is holding the 12th Annual Veterans Day Recognition and Celebration Program on Thursday, November 9, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Durham County Human Services Building, 414 E Main Street, Durham, North Carolina.
The event will take place in Countywide Meeting Rooms B and C, on the second floor.

This ceremony will recognize U.S. military veterans of all branches of service.
Please allow extra time, because the parking lot next to the Human Services Building is mostly unavailable. Parking is available in the 115 N. Queen Street parking deck. There are paid parking options on the street and in the Church Street parking deck located on the 100 block of East Main Street.
Features of the program:
- Welcome remarks from Durham County Manager Dr. Kimberly J. Sowell and a keynote address from Brian Pierce, Chief Deputy Secretary of the North Carolina Department of Military and Veterans Affairs
- The Theme of “Legacy of Service: Honoring our Heroes Past, Present, and Future”
- Veterans from all areas will be invited to participate in the Walk of Honor
- Capt. Helen E. Tripp, Manager of Community Paramedics with Durham County Emergency Medical Services, will sing the National Anthem.
