NC State University has been developing experimental tomato varieties designed especially for disease resistance.
But how do they taste? You can be the judge!
Durham County Cooperative Extension, at 721 Foster Street, Durham, North Carolina, is presenting a Tomato Trial Tasting event on Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 11 a.m to 2 p.m. It’s free to participate.
Participants will taste some of these new varieties of tomatoes, as well as some improved garden favorites. This taste trial is part of an effort to identify recommended tomato varieties for the average Piedmont garden.
Drop in between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., and stay after the trial to enjoy tasty treats graciously provided by the Family and Consumer Science Program. This will be a great event for the whole family.
