During these trying times we’ve been getting a lot of requests from businesses to share their deals. And we want to, because now, more than ever, we need to support local businesses.
But we wanted to do it in an organized way, in a way that made it easy for local residents to find the deals.
So, we reached out to our friends behind the website, Support Local or Else, to see if they could add a section for the Triangle. Support Local or Else is a website that helps residents connect with local businesses. It started in response to our current situation, which has hurt so many small businesses so profoundly.
Here’s how it works:
Each business can submit one deal. If your business is a restaurant, maybe it can be a takeout deal. Maybe your business has had to temporarily shut down operation. Then it could be a gift card deal, for future use. Is your business a music venue? Maybe you could sell a gift certificate to redeem at a future show. If your business is a brewery, and you’re selling beer with curbside pickup, you could add a beer deal. The deal should be a way for people to engage you remotely, or in the future.
The main rules are that the businesses must be local to the Triangle, and the discount has to have a value of at least $10.
The idea is just to have a central location where people who want to help local businesses can find local businesses to support.
The Raleigh & Durham page on Support Local or Else is for the whole Triangle: Wake County, Durham County, Orange County, Chatham County and Johnston County. Whether your business is in a city or a tiny town, we want you to share your deal.
There is no cost to be listed.
Submit your deal to Support Local or Else
Please share this with other businesses in the Triangle so that they can list their deals and we can get the ball rolling!
Once there are a good number of deals listed for the Triangle, Support Local or Else will publish the new page so that everyone will know how to find local businesses to support, and then we’ll all use all our social media reach to get lots and lots of customers to see your deals.
For inspiration, take a look at Support Local or Else’s Charlotte page, where it’s taken off like wildfire. More than 250 Charlotte businesses are sharing their deals.
