Don’t send your Jack-o-lantern to the landfill after Halloween. Bring it to “Smash! Don’t Trash” at Trophy on Maywood, 656 Maywood Avenue, Raleigh, on Saturday, November 3rd, 2018, between 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Pumpkins will be composted.
This is a free event.
The event is brought to you by CompostNow, an organization that make it easier to compost, and Hungry Harvest, who makes sure that produce that would otherwise go to waste finds a home.
The event will include pumpkin smashing stations, informational booths, and music.
Food will be available by purchase from Wandering Moose food truck. All compost created at “Smash Don’t Trash” will be shared with Inter-Faith Food Shuttle.
Pumpkin Parameters:
- Limit one pumpkin per person
- No pumpkins with candles, aluminum foil, or other non-compostable decorations inside them
- No painted or be-dazzled pumpkins
