Raleigh Stories is a community engagement public art project about Raleigh neighborhoods and communities. It’s sponsored by Raleigh Arts.
The project features portraits drawn by artist Deborah Aschheim, along with historical information by Carmen Cauthen.
Follow along on the @RaleighStories Instagram account and get to know your Raleigh neighbors and history. Look for upcoming public art projects that will be installed around the city.
Want to be a part of it?
Aschheim will be photographing community members and drawing portraits from the photographs. In addition, she is making drawings from family photos. If you have photo albums of Raleigh people and places that you’d like to share, let Raleigh Arts know. You can find an email address on the webpage for RaleighStories.
If Aschheim draws a portrait of you or from one of your family photos, you’ll receive a free signed print of the drawing.
