Fireworks are returning to the City of Raleigh for the 4th of July in 2023. As was the case in 2022, the event will take place at Dix Park.

Raleigh’s 4th of July fireworks celebration will take place on Tuesday, July 4th, 2023, on Dix Park’s Big Field, 101 Blair Drive, Raleigh.
Gates open at 5 p.m.
Before the fireworks, enjoy music, food trucks, games and a family activity zone.
The fireworks show starts at 9:30 p.m.
You are welcome to bring a small cooler with food and non-alcoholic beverages. Blankets are welcome. It’s recommended that you wear closed-toe shoes and bring flashlights, refillable water bottles, sunscreen and bug spray.

Family Activity Zone
The Family Activity Zone will be open from 5 to 9 p.m. There will be slides, skee ball and a foam party pit, as well as art activities from Artsplosure.

Parking and Shuttles for Raleigh’s 4th of July Celebration
Free event parking at the following City of Raleigh downtown parking decks:
- Moore Square Parking Deck – 223 S. Wilmington St.
- Red Hat/City Center Parking Deck – 429 S. Wilmington St.
Free Park and Ride – Shuttle Service:
- Shuttles will run from downtown event parking to Dix Park
- Will pick up from Moore Square Park
- Will drop at intersection of Centennial Parkway/Blair Dr.
- .2 miles/5 min walk up Blair Dr. from drop off to Big Field
- Shuttle from downtown will run throughout the entire event 4:30-10pm
Centennial Campus: Free event parking is available in designated NC State University parking lots and decks on Centennial Campus. However, no shuttle service is available from Centennial Campus. Walk only to Dix Park.
Walk or Bike to Raleigh’s 4th of July Celebration
If you’re arriving on foot or by bike:
- Use the Rocky Branch Greenway to enter at Hunt Drive and Western Blvd.
- Use the Centennial Bikeway Connector to enter at Blair Drive and Centennial Pkwy.
- Bike parking with volunteer attendants available at each of these entrances.
Ride Share / Family Drop-off
The drop-off and pickup point is the Chapel Parking Lot, 1030 Richardson Drive, Raleigh, NC.
Useful information
- The event viewing area is a grass covered field with uneven surfaces.
- Bug spray, sunscreen and closed-toe shoes are recommended.
- Bring blankets and/or lawn chairs for seating.
- You may bring in food and non-alcoholic drinks.
- There will not be food trucks or concessions.
- Port-a-johns will be the only restrooms available at the event site. ADA accessible facilities will be included.
Accessibility
- No parking/viewing at the cathedral
- Enter at Goode Street from Lake Wheeler Rd. and will be directed to designated parking lots
- ADA Shuttle will pick up from those parking lots and take attendees to the Big Field
- New accessible pathway into the Big Field
- Accessible shuttle in Dix Park will pause for the fireworks show from 9:30-10 pm

- Personal fireworks
- Drones
- Off-leash dogs & not properly disposing of dog waste
- Littering
Starting at 9 p.m., the Raleigh 4th of July Fireworks event will be broadcast live on ABC11, including the fireworks display at 9:30 p.m. Live coverage will also stream on www.abc11.com and all ABC11 streaming channels.
