Electric Train Project
Electrifying this train is a unique and high-impact strategy that supports the implementation of Raleigh’s Community Climate Action Plan (CCAP). Transportation electrification is one of the highest-impact strategies in CCAP. This is one of the few electric trains of its kind around the country and provides a very visible and fun way to educate people of all ages on clean transportation.
This was a partnership between Raleigh Parks, Office of Sustainability, and Engineering Services- Fleet Management Operations. Electrifying the train also supports the implementation of Raleigh’s EV Implementation Strategy Rollout (EVISR).
