Durham County Main Library, 300 N Roxboro Street, Durham, North Carolina, is hosting Japanese Taiko Drumming and Cultural Celebration on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
This is a FREE event, but please RSVP.
Schedule:
- 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.: Origami with author Barbara Pearl and Calligraphy
- 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.: Drumming performance by Peaceful Forest, and Q&A
Peaceful Forest features Takumi Kato, a professional Taiko drummer from Gifu, Japan, who has toured internationally with Kodo, one of Japan’s most renowned Taiko groups.
He now travels across the U.S. with his three children, performing as a family and carrying out their mission to complete 1,000 performances across all 50 states, spreading peace and cultural connection through music.
