Pauli Murray Center for History and Social Justice, at 906 Carroll Street, Durham, North Carolina, is devoted to the legacy and work of Pauli Murray. Set in Murray’s childhood home, it opened in 2024.

1st Anniversary Celebration

On Saturday, September 6, 2025, celebrate the first anniversary of the Pauli Murray Center for History and Social Justice opening to the public.
Family-led tours
The center will be offering family-led guided tours at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Rosita Stevens-Holsey (Pauli’s niece) and Ria Aiken (Pauli’s grand niece) will speak about their memories and experiences.
As a specialized one-time tour opportunity, registration is required and limited subsidized tickets are available. Register here to reserve a ticket or join the waiting list.
Drop-In Celebration
After the tours, the Center will host a drop-in celebration from 12 to 3 p.m. This free community celebration is a chance to explore the exhibit. Cupcakes for the first 50 guests!
