Oak Ridge Farms, 92 Thomas Arnold Road, Zebulon, is hosting a family-friendly May Day event on the farm on Saturday, May 1st, 2021, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Admission is free.
There will be a large farm market with many vendors.
In addition, Las Gringas Taco food truck and Raleigh Rolls ice cream truck will be there.
Kids can meet farm animals, including pigs, chickens, goats, bunnies and a cow and calf.
Three princesses will be on the farm to help kids with a craft. Kids will paint biodegradable pots. When they’re done, they’ll get to bring home some soil and seeds (probably sunflower seeds) to plant at home.
Caitlin Gooch, of Saddle Up and Read, will be there with her pony, and will be reading to children. She will be collecting new and gently used books, as well as monetary donations, for her program that distributes books to children in need.
