
North Carolina Museum of Art, 2110 Blue Ridge Road, Raleigh, North Carolina, is presenting NCMA Loves Anime Summer Bazaar on Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. It takes place in the SECU Auditorium and Education Lobby in the East Building.
This is a day full of anime vendors, food, music and film screenings. The bazaar is free to attend. The film screenings are $10, or $5 for members.
Film Screenings
7:30 p.m.: Deji Meets Girl (2021) — anime short, directed by Ushio Tazawa
One summer, Maise Higa, a listless first-year high school student who works part-time at the front desk of her family’s hotel in Okinawa, meets an “Ichiro Suzuki,” a mysterious youth who came alone from Tokyo as a hotel guest.
8 p.m.: The Colors Within (2024), directed by Naoko Yamada, 1 hour, 41 minutes. PG
Totsuko is a high school student with the ability to see the colors of others—colors of bliss, excitement, and serenity, plus a color she treasures as her favorite. Kimi, a classmate at her school, gives off the most beautiful color of all. Although she doesn’t play an instrument, Totsuko forms a band with Kimi and Rui, a quiet music enthusiast they meet at a used bookstore in a far corner of town. As they practice at an old church on a remote island, music brings them together, forming friendships and stirring affections. Will they discover their true colors?
