The North Carolina Museum of Art, at 2110 Blue Ridge Road, Raleigh, NC, is hosting the NC Indigenous Artist Festival on Saturday, March 2, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This is a free event in the East Building.
Celebrate the opening of To Take Shape and Meaning: Form and Design in Contemporary American Indian Art with a day of Indigenous art and culture.
Join open studios to create alongside traditional basket weavers, Southeastern gorget makers, and more for the whole family.
Meet nationally acclaimed artists Harlen Chavis Jr. (Lumbee), Tom Farris (Otoe-Missouria/Cherokee Nation), Steven Paul Judd (Kiowa/Choctaw), Senora Lynch (Haliwa-Saponi), and Laura Walkingstick (Eastern Band Cherokee).
Support traditional and contemporary Indigenous artists at the vendor fair. Attend a performance of the Lumbee culture dancers and drummers under the direction of Culture Coordinator Reggie Brewer (Lumbee).
