National Night Out is a program that encourages local police departments to connect with the community in a fun way, and encourages the community members to stand together for safety and awareness. The official date is the first Tuesday in August, although not all communities hold their National Night Out event on that date.
Some National Night Out events are for the general public and some are for members of specific communities or neighborhoods.
You can find several National Night Out event in the Triangle.
The Wake Forest Police Department is hosting its National Night Out celebration on Monday, October 7, 2024 (NOT in August), from 5 to 7:30 p.m., in the parking lot of the Joyner Park Community Center, 701 Harris Road, Wake Forest, North Carolina.
The October date is to take advantage of cooler temperatures.
The event will feature:
- A DJ
- Games
- Food
- Special prize drawings
- Fire, police, and EMS vehicle displays
- Booths highlighting crime prevention and safety
- K-9 demonstration
- More
