
National Night Out is a program that encourages local police departments to connect with the community in a fun way, and encourages the community members to stand together for safety and awareness. The official date is the first Tuesday in August, although not all communities hold their National Night Out event on that date.
Some National Night Out events are for the general public and some are for members of specific communities or neighborhoods.

Guardians of the Hill, the Chapel Hill Police Department, Chapel Hill Fire Department and other partners are hosting a National Night Out celebration on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Hargraves Community Center, 216 N Roberson Street, Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
This is a free community event.
The celebration includes free food, games and fun for all ages.
