
Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University is celebrating its 20th anniversary on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 12 to 7 p.m. The museum is at 2001 Campus Drive, Durham, North Carolina.
The celebration is open to the public and free to attend.
Guests can enjoy art-making stations, interactive learning experiences, hands-on activities, and special performances throughout the day. A variety of local food and beverage options will also be available during the celebration. Parking is FREE and admission is always free and open to all.
The anniversary celebration will also feature the grand opening of the Nancy A. Nasher and David J. Haemisegger Family Sculpture Garden. This exciting milestone will feature four special exhibitions on view, including Everything Now All At Once, which highlights bold and innovative works from the Nasher’s contemporary art collection.

- NCCU Drumline: Several performances throughout the day.
- Scrap Exchange with Allison Tierney: Create your own art using barrels and boxes of reusable materials in this collaborative art-making experience.
- Express & Release Therapeutic Dance with Gabrielle Rivero: Engage your body and mind in a movement-based activity designed for all ages.
- Photography Workshop with Lindsay Metivier: Participate in an interactive photography workshop led by a local professor and artist.
- Endlesswill: Type your own poem on vintage typewriters, or receive a custom poem written just for you.
- Duke Arts Pop-Up Experiences: Check out the interactive arts-making station, including screen-printing activities.
- Durham County Library: Stop by the resource table and bookmobile to sign up for a library card, check out materials, and grab a book for story time.
- Stormie Daie’s Story Hour: Reading for kids and families.
- ISLA’s Story Hour: Reading in Spanish for kids and families.
- Lamar Whidbee’s Meditation Hour: Join Lamar for a guided art and mediation activity for families in the new garden.
- JEGHETTO’S ENTERTAINMENT, LLC: Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind puppet show.
