Music Empowerment is hosting Songs for Musical Empowerment — A Benefit Concert on Tuesday, August 30th, 2022, at 6 p.m., at The Carolina Theater of Durham, 309 W Morgan Street, Durham, NC.
The event is free to attend, but a donation of $5 is suggested.
The concert will feature different genres of live music performances, including collegiate a cappella groups from around NC, orchestras, soul guitarists, and more. Celebrity host Brendan Slocumb, author of The Violin Conspiracy, will be joining to help showcase these amazing local NC performers. Musical Empowerment students will enjoy the VIP experience with front-row seats to this celebration of music. This event is free and open to the public, but seating is limited.
Musical Empowerment is a nonprofit celebrating 20 years of service. Since 2002, Musical Empowerment has offered free music lessons to children from marginalized communities. The organization’s college volunteers not only teach music lessons but also transform their student’s relationship with music! Students with a mentor are more likely to graduate high school, attend college and become mentors themselves.
