Museum of Life and Science, 433 W Murray Avenue, Durham, North Carolina, is one of the most popular attractions in Durham. It features indoor and outdoor exhibits that encourage children to learn about the world around them.
The exhibits explore a wide range of scientific fields — physics, zoology, aerospace, weather, sound, and more — all in a fun, hands-on way.
Many Western North Carolina residents have been displaced due to the catastrophic Hurricane Helene.
Recognizing that a visit to the museum offers a way to play and decompress, Museum of Life and Science is offering free admission, through the end of October, 2024, to displaced residents of the following North Carolina counties:
- Alexander
- Alleghany
- Ashe
- Avery
- Buncombe
- Burke
- Caldwell
- Catawba
- Clay
- Cleveland
- Gaston
- Haywood
- Henderson
- Jackson
- Macon
- Madison
- McDowell
- Mitchell
- Polk
- Rutherford
- Transylvania
- Watauga
- Wilkes
- Yancey
- Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians
Each adult with proof of residence may bring up to five children. The Museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
