South Wake Conservationists are hosting Moth Night at Crowder County Park, 4709 Ten-Ten Road, Apex, North Carolina, on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 8 to 10 p.m.
Admission is free but registration is required.
Did you know that there are estimated to be 160,000 different moth species, almost ten times as many as there are for butterflies? And most come out only at night, so you may not have seen most of them.
Well, here is your chance! South Wake Conservationists are presenting their popular Moth Night again, led by Bonnie Eamick!
All ages will enjoy the amazing variety of shapes and sizes we will see in just one evening. It is like Bubba Gump said about chocolates: “You never know what you’re gonna get.”
They will set up a large sheet with a UV light to attract a variety of moths that will land on the sheet for everyone to observe and draw, and the group can use the iNaturalist Seek app (Android or iOS) to try to identify some of them and submit photos as citizen scientists.
Double-Check Before You Head Out!
We make every effort to make sure that everything on Triangle on the Cheap is 100% accurate.
However, sometimes things change without notice, and it’s also possible that we can make a mistake.
Please verify all deals and events with the venue or organizer before you go.
