As Mordecai investigates its own archaeological footprint, the park has been hosting a series of lectures with local experts speaking about their work at historic sites, cemeteries, and more.
The final lecture takes place Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 1 p.m. It’s free to attend.
The series will close with the lives of Indigenous people who lived here for thousands of years before Europeans arrived and bring the story full circle with the emerging connections to descendent communities like the Tuscarora Nation of North Carolina.
