Celebrate Pi Day at Beer Study-Durham, 2501 University Drive, Durham, on March 14th, 2018, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Here’s what’s going on:
- Pie eating contest
- Bake off
- Reciting pi
- Possible pie in face
6 p.m.: Pi Reciting Contest. Be able to recite the most numbers CORRECTLY in Pi from memory.
6:30 p.m.: Pie Bake Off Contest. Judges: JD, Kerri, Carl, Nikko (if he’s here), and random person from the crowd.
Winners of each will receive:
- First Place–$30 gift card to Beer Study Durham
- Second Place–Sexual Chocolate Teku glasses (2)
- Third Place-Bag o’ Pork Rinds (your choice on flavor!)

Here’s a video to help you with that Pi Reciting contest. (You’re on your own for the pie eating contest and the bake off.) A few years ago I cornered my friend Lyndsay at a party, with no warning, and asked her to recite as many digits of Pi as she could, since she was well known for winning a Pi reciting contest back in high school.
