Durham County Veteran Services is presenting a Memorial Day Remembrance event on Monday, May 26, 2025, at 9 a.m., at Administration II Building, 201 E Main Street, Durham, North Carolina. It will take place in Conference Room 126.
It’s free and open to everyone.
The keynote speaker is Durham County Commissioner and Army Veteran Major Stephen J. Valentine.
A central part of this year’s program will be a tribute to Gold Star families, the immediate relatives of military service members who died in the line of duty, living in Durham. Community members are encouraged to attend and hear these families share the enduring legacies of their loved ones.
The observance will also include a moment of remembrance for the 376 known Durham County veterans who lost their lives in service to our nation. The public is invited to participate in the roll call of these fallen heroes.
