McIntyre’s Books, at 2000 Fearrington Village Center, Pittsboro, is an independent bookstore in Chatham County that has been encouraging readers and hosting authors for 30 years. It’s also, of course, a great place to shop for books.
You can find all of McIntyre’s Books’ upcoming events on their Facebook page.
Here are a couple of them. Make sure to check the Facebook events for children’s story times, and author visits.

Want some feedback on your writing? Got something you need to finish up? Something for work? Something for school? An idea for a novel you’d love to get started on? A work in progress you’d like to make more progress on? Join Steve Peha and Margot Carmichael Lester, professional writers and writing coaches, and co-authors of the 9-time award-winning book, Be a Better Writer, from 2PM-5PM, and the first Wednesday of every month.
They’ll be here in the Literature room to help you any way they can with any type of writing or writing goal. If you want to ask Margot about journalism or her work writing about Hollywood film production, go right ahead. If you’d like to ask Steve about the first novel he’s slowly working his way through, he’ll be glad to share his experience with you. This is casual, comfortable, creative, and compassionate support from two writers who love nothing better than helping other writers write with greater ease and satisfaction.
